Job Summary
*******2026/2027******* Under direct supervision of the school principal, maintains and operates the school library, instructs students in the use of the library, orders, receives, and maintains accessibility to all materials and supplies necessary to the operation of the library for the purpose of providing supplemental services to students, to support classroom instruction and to promote the implementation of the reading incentive program in the Taft City School District. This position is located at Roosevelt Elementary School located in Taft, CA.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education: • Completion of high school or equivalent required with business and secretarial courses desired. • Additional courses in library science desirable. • Successful completion of the Library Media Technician exam. (Proctored at the District Office, if needed.) Experience: • One year working in a library preferably with students of middle school age. • Experience in dealing with adults in and around the school community. Fingerprint clearance by both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice as well as a physical clearance are conditions of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met.
