Summary
The Device Manufacturing Specialist I is primarily responsible for assembling, assisting with testing, and delivery of marketed IED devices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Coordinates with the machining department on special machined parts.
- Assists with large project builds (Airplane, Manhole, etc.).
- Orders parts for device manufacturing.
- Builds training devices.
- Assists with the management of device manufacturing inventory.
- Prepares device shipments to be delivered worldwide.
- Solders onto circuit boards and other electronic components.
- Assists with quality control checks on all devices built.

- Knowledge and ability to safely operate power tools (table saw, chop saw, router, pneumatic nailer, drill press, band saw, media blaster, plasma cutter, MIG welder and TIG welder).

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
