Software Engineer- AI - LA - $250K base early equity

I’m working with an early-stage, technically-driven startup that’s doing something pretty wild, building autonomous AI systems that can run full end-to-end loops, detect issues, test ideas, and resolve problems on their own. It’s one of those “this shouldn’t exist yet” kinds of projects.
They’re tiny right now, and the founders are extremely technical (deep backgrounds across AI, security, and distributed systems). The vibe is more cutting-edge-research than corporate. Super hands-on, big ownership, and huge problems to tackle.
You’d be:
• Building generative AI agents that autonomously identify and test issues
• Designing backend inference systems for large models
• Working with LLMs, agent frameworks, reasoning loops, memory systems
• Deploying to real customer environments and seeing impact fast
They’re looking for someone who:
• Is excellent with Python backend fundamentals
• Has hands-on experience with LLMs or AI systems
• Understands API design and databases (esp. Postgres)
• Knows how to design reliable backend architecture
• Likes small teams, high ownership, and fast iteration
