Host/Hostess

Duties

• Greet guests with a friendly and positive attitude, making them feel valued and comfortable from arrival to departure
• Manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
• Maintain an organized waitlist and communicate wait times clearly to guests
• Assist guests with seating preferences, special requests, and provide menus promptly
• Answer incoming phone calls professionally, providing information about the restaurant and reservations
• Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth flow of service and timely seating
• Uphold cleanliness and presentation standards at the host stand and waiting areas
• Support guest relations by addressing questions or concerns courteously and promptly
• Promote a welcoming environment that encourages repeat visits and positive reviews
• Assist in training new team members on guest service protocols and POS systems

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a Host/Host or in food service is highly preferred
• Strong customer service skills with a genuine passion for hospitality
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including phone etiquette
• Familiarity with restaurant POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous
• Previous experience in hotel or guest services environments is a plus
• Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining professionalism
• Knowledge of serving protocols, guest relations, and hospitality standards is desirable
• Demonstrated ability to work well within a team and adapt quickly to changing priorities
