General Maintenance Technician

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dependable and skilled General Maintenance Technician to support operations in Charlottesville, VA. This position requires an active Secret clearance. The ideal candidate will have broad maintenance experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in secure environments.

Security Clearance: Active Secret Clearance Required, Top Secret Preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repair of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural components
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks
• Troubleshoot and resolve facility-related issues in a timely manner
• Repair fixtures, doors, flooring, and other facility components
• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment
• Follow all safety procedures and security protocols for cleared facilities
• Document maintenance activities and maintain service records

Minimum Qualifications

• Security Clearance: Active Secret Clearance Required, Top Secret Preferred
• Proven experience in general maintenance or facilities support
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry systems
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to pass background checks and maintain clearance status

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in government or secure facilities
• Technical certifications in maintenance-related trades (HVAC, electrical, etc.)
• OSHA or safety certifications

Work Environment

• Work performed in secure government or controlled-access facilities
• May involve lifting, climbing, bending, and working in confined spaces
• Must adhere to strict safety and security procedures at all times
