Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join a hospital team. This role includes: bedside collecting blood and other specimens, performing venipunctures and finger sticks, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and updating patient records. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, compassionate, and adheres to proper infection control and safety procedures.
Key Requirements
Must Have:
Certification or formal training in phlebotomy
Proficiency in venipuncture, phlebotomy, and finger sticks
Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols
Knowledge of infection control and aseptic techniques
Preferred:
Minimum 2 years of hospital (acute care) bedside draws patients of all ages
Experience performing bleeding-time tests and quality-control documentation
Compassionate patient care and strong bedside manner
Ability to calm nervous patients and reassure them during procedures
