What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Manager position at T.T. Repairs, LLC.?
Production Manager – Aviation Repair Machine Shop (Player-Coach Leader)
At TT Repairs, we don’t just fix components—we keep aircraft moving safely and on schedule. As an FAA-certified wheel and brake repair station with over 30 years of proven excellence, we’ve built our reputation on precision workmanship, fast turnaround times, and unmatched customer service. We are looking for a hands-on Production Manager who thrives on the shop floor and leads from the front.
This is not a desk job. It’s an opportunity for a true machinist-leader to step into a critical role where your expertise directly impacts quality, performance, and customer satisfaction. You will be the bridge between complex aviation repair specifications and the finished product, ensuring our shop maintains a steady flow, high organization, and industry-leading turnaround times.
What You’ll Do
Lead from the Floor
You’ll mentor and guide machinists by breaking down complex aviation repair requirements into clear, actionable steps. Whether it’s a unique repair challenge or a tight deadline, you’re right there with the team—problem-solving in real time.
Own the Workflow
Take full control of shop floor operations. From scheduling to prioritization, you’ll ensure a smooth, organized flow that consistently meets strict aviation turnaround times (TAT).
Drive Technical Excellence
Use your deep experience in manual machining and CNC operations to troubleshoot issues, optimize setups, and guarantee every repair meets FAA and regulatory standards.
Design & Innovate
Leverage your CAD/SolidWorks skills to interpret blueprints, design fixtures, and support the development of efficient, repeatable repair processes.
Maintain a World-Class Shop
Champion a clean, safe, and highly organized environment using 5S principles. Set the standard for professionalism and efficiency.
What You Bring
- Master-Level Machining Skills
Extensive hands-on experience with manual lathes and manual/CNC mills—this is non-negotiable. You must be a "master of the craft."
- Proven Leadership Experience
A track record of successfully managing teams in a production or machine shop environment.
- CAD/SolidWorks Proficiency
Strong ability to interpret and create technical designs.
- Aviation-Grade Mindset
You understand the urgency, precision, and accountability required in aviation repair.
- Player-Coach Mentality
You lead by example—equally as comfortable directing a team as you are jumping in to help solve a technical problem on the fly.
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with aviation materials, tolerances, and repair standards
- Experience with ERP or inventory management systems
- Background in engineering or advanced manufacturing environments
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily production while ensuring all safety regulations are followed
- Maintain strict quality control standards to meet or exceed customer specifications
- Train, mentor, and develop shop personnel

- Ensure all machinery and equipment are properly maintained
- Identify and implement cost-saving and efficiency improvements
- Analyze production data to drive continuous improvement
