Position Overview
The Shop Foreman is responsible for overseeing daily shop operations, managing the technician team, and ensuring all repairs are completed accurately, efficiently, and to the highest standard. This is a leadership and operations role focused on driving shop performance, maintaining quality control, and developing the team.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily shop workflow and assign jobs to technicians based on skill set and priority
- Monitor job progress and hold technicians accountable to quality and completion timelines
- Conduct quality control inspections on completed repairs before vehicles are released
- Mentor and develop technicians, providing technical guidance and performance feedback
- Communicate job status and shop updates to ownership and the service advisor
- Enforce safety protocols, DOT compliance standards, and company policies
- Coordinate parts needs with the service team to minimize vehicle downtime
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional shop environment
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in commercial truck and trailer repair
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a shop environment
- Strong diagnostic and mechanical knowledge across heavy-duty trucks and trailers
- Working knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements
- Ability to manage workflow and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Professional communication skills and a team-first mindset
- CDL preferred but not required
