Job Summary:
The Chemical Lab Associate at a regional manufacturing organization supports quality control and research & development efforts. This role is responsible for performing tests on raw materials and finished products, preparing customer samples, and assisting in formulation development. The Lab Technician ensures laboratory operations are accurate, organized, and compliant with regulatory standards, providing essential support to R&D and production teams. Key responsibilities include quality testing, sample preparation, and detailed recordkeeping.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform quality control testing on all products per established QC guidelines, including preparation and distribution of certificates of analysis.
- Test selected raw materials according to purchasing and QC guidelines.
- Prepare small quantity samples for customers, including mixing, labeling, generating SDSs, and packaging for shipment.
- Stock the laboratory with supplies and raw materials from inventory.
- Organize and maintain laboratory space, lab equipment, and storage shelves.
- Assemble titration kits as required.
- Assist in preparation and testing of new formulations, supporting production as needed.
- Maintain detailed records of project logs, QC results, supply usage, and technical documentation from suppliers.
- Support the R&D Director in preparing technical documentation for finished products, including labels, SDSs, and technical data sheets.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2–3 years of laboratory experience in manufacturing, quality control, or R&D settings.
- Experience in formulation testing, laboratory equipment handling, and sample preparation is preferred.
Special Requirements:
- Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and chemical handling procedures.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and QC documentation standards.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in testing and documenting results.
- Proficiency with laboratory techniques, sample preparation, and equipment operation.
- Skilled in technical documentation, including SDS creation, labeling, and certificates of analysis.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with R&D and production teams.
Additional Desired Characteristics:
- Familiarity with chemical formulations and titration methods.
- Experience in customer-facing sample preparation and packaging.
- Basic computer proficiency for record-keeping and document generation.
Pay: $25.00 per hour
