Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Numerical Control Programmer (NCP) to join a high-performing fabrication team supporting aerospace structural production. This role focuses on developing NC programs, setup documentation, and machining strategies for complex multi-axis parts.
The ideal candidate enjoys s olving machining challenges, optimizing workflows, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to produce high-quality components.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, verify, and revise Machine Control Data (MCD), tooling geometry, and setup documentation for multi-axis CNC machines (primarily 5-axis)
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing documentation to develop robust NC programs
- Develop multiple setups and machining operations for complex geometries
- Produce clear setup sheets and operator instructions for safe and consistent machine operation
- Use simulation/verification tools (e.g., Vericut) to validate programs and prevent collisions
- Troubleshoot and optimize programs based on shop-floor feedback and inspections
- Collaborate with planning, engineering, tooling, and operations teams to improve cycle times and manufacturability
- Maintain program documentation, revisions, and configuration control
- (Senior Level) Lead fixture design and define machining strategies across multiple operations
Required Skills
- 5 years of NC programming experience in production machining
- Hands-on experience with 5-axis CNC programming (aerospace parts preferred)
- Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing processes
- Proficiency in CATIA V5 for NC programming
- Experience with simulation tools such as Vericut
- Ability to create clear setup documentation and operator instructions
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work onsite and support shift requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing custom fixtures and tooling
- Background in aerospace manufacturing and inspection processes
- Experience optimizing machining strategies and reducing cycle times
- Familiarity with additional CAM tools or post-processors
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Education & Experience
- Associate degree with 3 years of relevant experience, OR
- Bachelor’s degree with 1 years of experience, OR
- 5 years of equivalent hands-on experience
