About the Role
The Design Consultant position is responsible for promoting, designing and selling System Pavers installations through a proven, company-specific sales system. New employees will attend 2-3 weeks of industry-specific training through a variety of learning paths. Once complete, you’ll meet with homeowners to discuss their outdoor living needs. You’ll then help bring their vision to life by discussing options for their space, including project estimates and personalized design possibilities. The primary goal of a Design Consultant is to meet and exceed sales objectives by converting quality leads into customers.
Responsibilities

- Generate Sales
- Present our company and services as trained by our System Pavers University (The Great 8).
- Make initial contact with clients via company generated appointments and build rapport.
- Accurately uncover and assess customers’ needs and vision for their outdoor space.
- Measure outdoor spaces and design personalized solutions.
- Meet/Exceed sales targets: Monthly Certified Revenue Numbers, Minimum Annual Closing Percentage of 20%, and a Self-Generated business target of 10% of Annual Revenue.
- Allocation of leads are merit based and subject to the discretion of the company. If you do not maintain the minimum YTD closing percentage of 20%, this may result in the withholding of company generated leads. At that time, you may be given a performance improvement plan which will include a time to bring in your own sales by working past customers and bringing in self-generated sales.
- Demonstrate professional selling and negotiating skills in all engagements.
- Maintain a clean and presentable vehicle and sales aides.
- Be available to run between 5-8 company provided leads per week. Saturday availability required.
- Be punctual, arrive 10 minutes early to all appointments and meetings.
- Survey the 5-10 nearest homes to every appointment, 10-15 nearest homes around completed projects.
- Maintain a pipeline through active follow up and lead generation efforts.
- Continually learn and gain product knowledge, learn construction standards, and improve selling skills which includes periodically performing role plays and maintaining a passing score.
- Attend and participate in sales meetings, construction and product meetings, and sales seminars.
- Follow up with Sales Managers daily Ongoing Project Support
- Be prompt. Return all Client, Sales Manager, Project Manager, Construction Manager and Coordinator, and Corporate calls and emails within 24 hours.
- Maintain customer profiles in our Job Pricing Tool (JPT) with pertinent client and appointment information.
- Turn in and upload sales paperwork to Sales Manager and Construction within 36 hours.
- Take before and after pictures for every job.
- Know how to measure and use our JPT tool to properly price jobs.
- Take necessary steps to safeguard company and client confidential information.
- Attend Job Start Previews to transition the job to the Project Manager in a professional, seamless manner.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Time Allocation Expectations
- 50-75% - Generating Sales
- 20% - Ongoing Project Support
- 10% - Project Prewalks
- 5% - Team meetings, 1:1 calls with Manager
Qualifications
- Hold a valid Driver’s License which falls within acceptable SP insurance guidelines and maintain full coverage insurance policy to qualify for mileage reimbursement.
- Be physically active for extended periods without getting tired or out of breath. Bend, stretch, twist, or reach out. Use muscles for extended periods without getting tired. Use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble very small objects.
- Willingness to work remotely, in-office and/or to travel occasionally.
- Regular, predictable attendance is required.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work and system design.

Preferred Skills
- Previous successful sales experience or a strong interest in kickstarting your sales career.
- Comfortable using basic office programs and learning new technology.
- Construction experience a plus.
- California Only: Complete and maintain CSLB licensing (System Pavers assisted).
Salary : $100,000 - $125,000
