JOB DESCRIPTION:
ROLE
- Title: Guidewire PolicyCenter Application Consultant
- Goal: Design, develop, configure, and maintain Guidewire PolicyCenter solutions that translate insurance business requirements into scalable system functionality.
THE MOST RELEVANT SKILL (1 bullet)
- Guidewire PolicyCenter Configuration & Development — Deep expertise in PolicyCenter configuration, product modeling, workflows, rules, UI screens, and data model customization; able to independently deliver end-to-end enhancements.
SCOPE
- Design, develop, and maintain functionality within Guidewire PolicyCenter.
- Configure and enhance screen layouts, create new screens, and perform XML-based UI changes.
- Translate insurance business requirements into technical solutions in collaboration with Business Analysts.
- Configure organizational structures, roles, permissions, groups, producers, and producer codes.
- Customize Guidewire workflows, rules, plugins, batches, and data model components.
- Support CI/CD and source control processes using development and release management tools.
MUST-HAVES
- Guidewire PolicyCenter Experience — 7–10 years of hands-on implementation, configuration, and development experience.
- Guidewire Product Suite Knowledge — Strong understanding of PolicyCenter and Guidewire frameworks including workflows, rulesets, data model, and configuration architecture.
- Screen Configuration & XML Customization — Experience creating, modifying, and enhancing screens using Guidewire UI configuration and XML changes.
- Product Designer Configuration — Experience configuring offerings, question sets, coverages, limits, and product-related entities.
- Insurance Domain Knowledge — Ability to understand insurance processes and convert business requirements into technical solutions.
- Business Analyst Collaboration — Experience gathering, clarifying, and translating functional requirements into system changes.
- Organizational Configuration — Experience configuring organizations, groups, roles, permissions, producer structures, and producer codes.
- Guidewire Development Tools — Experience configuring and coding with Guidewire tools, accelerators, batches, and predefined plugins.
- Software Engineering Best Practices — Ability to follow established design patterns, coding standards, and software delivery practices.
- DevOps & SCM Tools — Experience using Git, Jenkins, Maven, and release/deployment tools in a development lifecycle.
- Application Consulting Experience — 1–3 years in an application consulting or implementation-focused role.
GOOD-TO-HAVES
- Guidewire Multi-Organization Setup — Experience supporting complex enterprise organizational structures.
- Release Management Exposure — Experience with automated deployment and environment promotion processes.
- Rules & Workflow Optimization — Ability to improve performance and maintainability of Guidewire configurations.
- Insurance Platform Implementations — Experience supporting large-scale insurance transformation programs.
