Overview
A well-established construction company in Kansas City is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable/Billing Specialist to join their accounting team. This role is integral to managing the company's billing processes, ensuring accurate invoicing, timely collections, and maintaining precise financial records.
Duties
- Prepare, review, and issue detailed invoices for construction projects in accordance with contractual terms and project milestones.
- Monitor customer accounts receivable balances, follow up on overdue payments, and negotiate payment arrangements
- Generate and submit customer invoices, including AIA pay applications
- Prepare, track, and manage lien waivers and compliance documentation
- Reconcile accounts receivable ledger entries, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Process incoming payments via checks, electronic transfers, or other methods; apply payments accurately within the accounting system.
- Collaborate with project managers and client representatives to clarify billing issues and ensure proper documentation.
- Perform account analysis and reconciliation tasks regularly
Skills
- Proven experience in accounts receivable and billing within the construction industry is a must
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with AIA pay applications strongly preferred
