Staff Accountant

I am looking for an Experienced Accountant to join a large, PE-backed, high-growth wealth management firm with over $700B in assets under management. Key Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close through preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations
• Perform fluctuation analyses on balance sheet and income statement accounts and communicate findings to leadership
• Maintain the general ledger to ensure accuracy of accounting records and financial reporting
• Support internal and external audit activities by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company policies
• Assist with process improvements and implementation of accounting best practices
• Collaborate cross-functionally with finance and other departments to support business initiatives and resolve accounting issues

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 2 years of progressive accounting experience - full-cycle general ledger or public accounting (audit) equally considered
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles
• Advanced Excel proficiency; experience with a general ledger system required (Workday preferred)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Self-starter with a proactive mindset and high accountability

Nice to Have

• CPA or active progress toward CPA
• MBA or Master's in Accounting
• Public accounting background from a Big 4 or large regional firm (BDO, RSM, Grant Thornton)
• Experience in financial services or asset management
• SOX / public company controls experience
• Exposure to SQL, Alteryx, Snowflake, or Power BI
