Staff Accountant

A mission-driven healthcare organization in Cockeysville is seeking a Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations, general ledger activity, and financial reporting. This role plays an important part in ensuring accuracy across financial statements and supporting the month-end process.

About the Role

• Monitor and analyze general ledger activity to ensure completeness and accuracy
• Prepare recurring journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial schedules
• Support month-end and year-end reporting by producing statements and variance analyses
• Review revenue and expense trends and provide insight into performance fluctuations
• Maintain daily cash activity reports and help assess organizational cash position
• Assist with preparing profit & loss, balance sheet schedules, depreciation reviews, and other standard financial outputs
• Support audits and internal review processes as needed

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience; exposure to healthcare is a plus
• Solid understanding of core accounting concepts, general ledger structure, and financial reporting
• Strong analytical ability with comfort interpreting financial data
• Experience with modern accounting software and productivity tools
• Effective communicator who can clearly explain findings and financial trends
• Commitment to accuracy, organization, and consistent follow-through
