Tool & Die Maker: Summary: The job includes building, maintaining, and repairing precision progressive, compound and transfer stamping dies. Candidates should have skills using manual and CNC machinery, interpreting blueprints, and troubleshooting issues on the production line to ensure part quality and consistency. Key responsibilities include fabricating components, performing preventive maintenance, assisting with die tryouts, modifying tools based on feedback, and collaborating with engineers, quality and operators to optimize performance and adhere to safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Die Construction and Fabrication: * Design and build progressive dies from blueprints and CAD models. * Fabricate precision components for dies using manual and CNC machining (mills, grinders, lathes, EDM). * Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to create parts. Maintenance and Repair: * Perform routine maintenance and sharpening of progressive dies to maintain efficiency and minimize downtime. * Diagnose and repair complex die issues, including wear, misalignment, and part defects. * Disassemble, repair, and reassemble dies, tools, jigs, and fixtures. Production Support and Quality Control: * Troubleshoot problems on the production press line, addressing issues like misfeeds and defects. * Assist with die tryouts and first-article inspections to verify dimensional accuracy and quality standards. * Modify dies based on engineering changes or feedback to improve performance and part consistency. * Conduct quality checks using precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
