In this role, you will lead and manage all activities within the production department, ensuring alignment with company policies and applicable laws while supervising staff and coordinating with other departments to meet QMS procedures and operational goals. Responsibilities include reviewing customer orders, inventory levels, and production capacity to establish scheduling priorities and output targets, as well as developing and implementing production schedules to meet quality standards and delivery timelines. You will oversee hiring, training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions for assigned employees, while monitoring and reporting on key production metrics such as output, labor hours, and operational issues to the Unit Manager and corporate staff. Compliance is essential, requiring preparation of documentation and employee training on QMS, OSHA, and company policies. This role also drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, safety, and product quality, maintains accurate inventory levels, and collaborates across departments to support production needs and good manufacturing practices. Additionally, you will track and maintain records related to time, production, efficiency, and quality, while adhering to all regulations, policies, procedures, safety rules, and instructions, and performing other duties as required.
The ideal candidate will bring 8-10 years of experience in a manufacturing or process-driven environment, including 2-3 years in a supervisory or management role, preferably overseeing large teams. A hands-on leader, this individual should be willing to work directly on the production floor when needed and possess strong mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of production equipment and processes. A bachelor"s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred, though equivalent relevant experience will be considered; a high school diploma or equivalent is required. Candidates should be proficient with computers and digital tools, demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, and be physically capable of lifting up to 55 lbs independently and up to 100 lbs with assistance, as well as standing for extended periods. Forklift experience or certification is considered a plus. Flexibility to work designated shift hours-including 1st shift (days), 2nd shift (3:00 pm - 11:00 pm approx.), or 3rd shift (10:00 pm - 6:30 am approx.)-is essential.
