Work for a growing Connecticut medical device company that supplies operating rooms and hospital clinics with cutting-edge products. Assembly Technician: Position description: Primarily perform producing components by assembling parts and subassemblies. Package and unpack a variety of products. Assembly may be medical device or roofing as needed and/or assigned. Position or align components and parts, either manually or with hoists. Prepare work to be accomplished by studying parts list and gathering parts, subassemblies, tools and materials. Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements. Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies. Verify specifications by measuring completed component. Resolve assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources. Conduct quality control checks. Requires visual quality inspection for product identification and applicable labels, paperwork etc. after assembly and after packing, or as directed. Maintain inventory by checking stock to determine supply levels, placing and tracking orders and verifying receipt of supplies. Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. Keep equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer"s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs. Requirements: Ability to read and decipher schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions. Required to read, write, basic math and comply with written instructions and established procedures. Basic computer skills in use of Microsoft word, database, Dymo label printer, copy machine. Document actions by completing production and quality forms. Continuous mental and visual attention. High attention to detail & accuracy with assembly operations, packing and shipping or similar instructions. Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision. Use of hand tools, including but not limited to hammers, screwdrivers and plyers. May require machine assistance to assemble parts. Clean and maintain work area and equipment, including tools. Responsible to maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations. Moderate physical effort handling product boxes from carts to assembly bench or other similar duties. Repetitive motion of assembly hands/wrists, gross grasp, manual dexterity. Ability to regularly lift and/or move average weight materials (max 25-35 pounds). Listed: $18-$19/hr
