Production Manager
This role supports a chemical manufacturing organization that produces specialty materials for industrial and engineered applications. Responsibilities:
* Lead all production operations with a strong focus on safety, regulatory compliance, quality, productivity, and cost control.
* Foster and continuously strengthen a culture of safety, ensuring adherence to OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, and industry best practices.
* Manage a production organization of approximately 70 employees across a 24/7 manufacturing operation, including engineers, supervisors, leads, operators, technicians, and training staff.
* Set clear performance expectations while providing ongoing coaching, feedback, and leadership development.
* Oversee daily production activities and participate in production scheduling.
* Allocate and optimize labor, materials, and equipment.
* Monitor production metrics, analyze performance trends, and report results to senior leadership.
* Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to prioritize work orders and manage breakdown response.
* Participate in outage planning and coordinate plant shutdown activities.
* Support defect analysis and equipment failure investigations to prevent recurrence.
* Ensure adherence to ISO-aligned quality systems, procedures, and documentation.
* Investigate incidents and non-conformances and implement improvements to SOPs and practices.
* Identify and support capital improvement initiatives.
* Provide operational input into process design and project execution.
* Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, lab, quality, R&D, and warehouse teams to align production with company goals.
Requirements:
* Availability to work onsite Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, supporting a 24/7 production operation as needed.
* 5 years of leadership experience in chemical manufacturing or similar industrial environments.
* 7 years of personnel management experience.
* Demonstrated ability to lead large teams and drive performance improvement.
* Strong commitment to safety, integrity, and regulatory compliance.
* Ability to interpret and apply OSHA regulations and safety procedures.
* Knowledge of chemical process equipment including reactors, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, piping, and utilities.
* Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, equipment layouts, and technical drawings.
* Working knowledge of OSHA PSM, MOC, and PSSR.
* Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
* Bachelor"s degree in engineering; chemical or related discipline preferred.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferences:
* Experience managing production under OSHA PSM or equivalent regulatory programs.
* Familiarity with basic process control systems, PLCs, or DCS platforms.
