What are the responsibilities and job description for the Piping Estimator position at Synectics?
Primary Purpose:
Responsible for preparing and/or coordinating the preparation of full estimates on large and complex projects as required by client's documents and providing complete conceptual and total bid price.
Work Arrangement: Office-based Monday-Thursday; Remote Friday
Skills & Requirements:
2 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and expertise
Strong experience in process piping estimating; plumbing-only estimating experience is not sufficient.
Experience with process piping projects, preferably in chemical, pharmaceutical, or similar industrial environments.
Experience estimating large-scale projects, ideally around the $10M range or higher.
Strong understanding of piping systems, piping components, settings, and valves.
Ability to review bid documents, scopes of work, blueprints, and construction documents and understand the piping scope.
Experience with material pricing, subcontractor bids, labor/material take-offs, and overall project cost estimating.
Familiarity with QuickPen or similar estimating software is preferred but not required.
Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Candidates with strong process piping experience may be considered even if they do not meet every preferred qualification.

Salary : $70,000 - $85,000
