Responsibilities
- Coordinate and execute month-end and quarter-end close activities in accordance with GAAP, including journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and management reporting.
- Analyze budget-to-actual variances and financial performance trends, providing insights and recommendations to support business decisions.
- Manage accounting activities related to store operations, including new location openings, relocations, and rent and occupancy cost analysis.
- Oversee lease accounting under ASC 842 and maintain fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and reconciliations.
- Prepare and file multi-jurisdictional sales and use tax returns while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
- Support and lead annual audit preparation, including coordinating with external auditors and preparing required documentation and schedules.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency, automation, reporting accuracy, and scalability.
- Mentor and support accounting team members while contributing to leadership development initiatives.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial analyses to support organizational growth and strategic objectives.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- CPA certification or active progress toward CPA preferred.
- 4-7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in retail, multi-entity, or high-volume environments.
- Strong experience with month-end close, financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Working knowledge of GAAP, lease accounting (ASC 842), and fixed asset accounting.
- Experience using ERP systems and supporting process improvements or system enhancements.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and data analysis.
- Experience supporting audits and working directly with external auditors.
- Demonstrated ability to train or mentor team members.
- Experience with Power BI, Power Query, Power Pivot, or data warehouse reporting tools.
- Knowledge of sales and use tax compliance and multi-jurisdictional tax filings.
- Experience with new store accounting, lease review, and operational accounting in multi-location environments.
- Background in process improvement, automation, and accounting workflow optimization.
- Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Full-time position with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Hybrid schedule with in-office attendance required Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
Salary : $85,000 - $100,000
