Key Responsibilities
- Perform pediatric rehabilitation evaluations and follow-up visits
- Provide physiatry consultations when needed
- Participate in the on-call rotation
- Provide medical leadership and support within the rehabilitation program
- Supervise and mentor medical students or residents when assigned
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Stay current with medical advancements through continuing medical education (CME)
This role involves working with pediatric patients with a variety of rehabilitation needs, including:
- Neurological disorders
- Musculoskeletal conditions
- Cardiopulmonary impairments
- Cerebral palsy and spasticity management
- Brain injury and concussion care
- Neuromuscular disorders
- Rehabilitation needs of NICU graduates
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree
- Board Certified or Board Eligible Physiatrist
- Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatrician or Pediatric Rehabilitation Physician preferred
- Experience managing pediatric rehabilitation patients in acute care or rehabilitation settings
- Eligible for Pennsylvania medical license (or ability to obtain)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to shape your clinical focus (CP, brain injury, neuromuscular disorders, concussion care, etc.)
