What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator position at Synectics Inc.?
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and distribute bid packages to subcontractors and consultants
- Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to develop scope understanding
- Prepare material, labor, and total cost estimates
- Manage RFI and bid processes
- Follow up with subcontractors to ensure bid participation
- Maintain bidder lists across multiple markets
- Review bids and support subcontractor award recommendations
- Attend site visits and preconstruction meetings
- Assist with budgeting, project planning, contracts, and scheduling
- Support project managers, superintendents, and field teams
- Review change orders, pay applications, schedules, and meeting documentation
- Coordinate with design professionals and manage project documentation
- Prepare bid comparisons and reporting
- Support permitting and approvals as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2 years of construction estimating or related experience
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, estimating, and project workflows
- Proficiency in Excel and MS Project
- Experience with tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, Pipeline Suite, and iSqFt preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Salary : $90,000 - $120,000
