About The Role

Responsibilities
- Represent clients in criminal and traffic cases, including infractions, misdemeanors, and felonies-from consult through trial and appeal
- Review discovery and conduct legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and related tools
- Draft motions, pleadings, briefs, and other legal documents with accuracy and clarity
- Negotiate plea agreements and settlements to achieve favorable outcomes
- Investigate case details, interview witnesses, and collaborate with investigators
- Stay up to date on statutes, regulations, and case law relevant to criminal defense
- Maintain accurate case files, documentation, and compliance with administrative requirements
- Assist with tasks and cases involving landlord-tenant law and personal injury when needed
- Active Bar license in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Minimum 2 years of relevant legal experience (criminal/DWI/traffic strongly preferred)
- Proven track record of court appearances, motion practice, and trial work
- Proficiency with legal research platforms (Westlaw, LexisNexis)
- Strong legal writing skills with the ability to draft precise and persuasive documents
- Effective negotiation skills and professional courtroom presence
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in case management
