We are seeking a Litigation Associate with 1-3 years of insurance defense experience to join a growing and collaborative law firm. This role offers the opportunity to handle a variety of liability matters while working both independently and alongside an experienced litigation team in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
Responsibilities
Handle insurance defense matters involving auto liability, general liability, construction, products liability, and property damage claims.
Manage cases through all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, examinations under oath, and court appearances.
Conduct legal research and analyze legal issues impacting case strategy.
Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, and client reports.
Evaluate liability, damages, and overall case value and provide recommendations to clients.
Appear before courts, arbitrators, and mediators on behalf of clients.
Coordinate with experts, insurance carriers, clients, and opposing counsel throughout the litigation process.
Maintain billable time requirements and ensure timely completion of assignments.
Effectively manage multiple matters while meeting deadlines and client expectations.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Active membership in good standing with the New Jersey Bar.
1-3 years of defense litigation experience.
Experience handling insurance defense, general liability, and construction litigation matters preferred.
Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with legal technology and case management systems.
Ability to manage deadlines, maintain billable hours, and prioritize a busy caseload.
Self-motivated professional with a strong commitment to client service and teamwork.
Ability to travel as needed for hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
