Our challenge
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Product Owner with a strong background in the payments domain and merchant experience. The ideal candidate will lead the development and management of our payment products, focusing on delivering seamless transaction lifecycle solutions, managing ACH and settlement processes, and ensuring robust reconciliation, ledger accuracy, risk mitigation, and fraud prevention. Experience with data platforms to leverage insights for product enhancements is a must.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Pittsburgh, PA/Dallas, TX is $115k - $125k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Own the product lifecycle within the payments domain, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs.
- Manage and optimize the merchant experience through innovative product features and improvements.
- Oversee the entire transaction lifecycle, from initiation to settlement, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and compliance.
- Drive the development and enhancement of ACH processing, settlement, reconciliation, and ledger systems.
- Implement risk management and fraud detection strategies to protect the platform and its users.
- Collaborate with data platform teams to utilize data analytics for product improvements and strategic decision-making.
- Define product vision, roadmap, and success metrics; prioritize features and requirements based on business impact.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, and customer support to ensure successful product delivery.
- Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, validate solutions, and communicate progress.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role within payments, merchant services, or financial technology.
- Deep understanding of the payments domain, transaction lifecycle, ACH, settlement processes, and reconciliation/ledger management.
- Experience in risk management and fraud prevention strategies.
- Familiarity with data platforms and analytics tools to drive product insights.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear development tasks and priorities.
Preferred Skills:
- Certifications in product management, payments, or related fields.
- Knowledge of financial regulations, compliance standards, and industry best practices.
- Experience working in fast-paced, agile environments.
