Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Dallas, TX is $110K - $115K/year & benefits (see below).



Role: Product Owner - Merchant Onboarding



The Role

Responsibilities:


  • Strong transaction‑ledger mindset with the ability to define and own canonical transaction schemas, intermediate data models, and event structures.
  • Ensures transactions and related events are consistently captured across operational stores and ledger systems to support accuracy, auditability, and financial integrity.
  • Proven ability to translate pricing and fee constructs into clear, implementable requirements covering fee calculation, gross vs. net settlement logic, and downstream revenue and billing impacts. Experienced in supporting complex scenarios, including net settlement models and their financial reporting implications.
  • Drives end‑to‑end requirements for merchant funding and payout execution, including payout instruction generation. Accounts for real‑world operational exceptions such as rejects, returns, and secondary or recovery flows tied to failed or adjusted payouts.
  • Defines and owns requirements for unique identifiers and transaction IDs that enable full traceability from origination through reporting, reconciliations, returns, and NOCs. Ensures transaction‑level transparency to support financial reconciliation, root‑cause analysis, and operational reporting.
  • Shapes product behavior for transaction‑level risk controls, including thresholding, processing and funding limits, and reserve‑related rules. Ensures risk decisions are embedded early in the transaction lifecycle to directly influence authorization, processing outcomes, and exposure management.




Requirements:


  • Demonstrated leadership in building and sustaining production‑ready platforms with measurable quality outcomes.
  • Proven ability to analyze and manage defect trends, enforce clear “definition of done” standards, and elevate automation maturity.
  • Drives release readiness through strong CI/CD practices, security and compliance hardening, resiliency and disaster‑recovery validation, and end‑to‑end traceability via dashboards and operational metrics.
  • Deep understanding of the merchant payments ecosystem across the full lifecycle—from transaction capture through gateways and processors, to authorization, processing, settlement, and post‑settlement servicing and analytics. Strong grasp of how these capabilities integrate within the broader merchant journey, supporting scale, reliability, compliance, and data‑driven insights.
