Our Challenge:
We are seeking experienced Performance Test Engineers to support a large-scale Data Center Migration program involving performance validation of enterprise applications.
The role requires strong expertise in end-to-end performance testing, including NFR gathering, scripting, execution, monitoring, and advanced bottleneck analysis across modern cloud-native and enterprise platforms. This position requires candidates who can ramp up quickly, work independently, and bring strong engineering depth to both first-time performance initiatives and performance re-validation scenarios.

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors.
In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $100K-$110K/year & benefits (see below).
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and define Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs), SLAs, and workload models.
- Design and implement performance test strategies for migration validation.
- Develop and maintain performance test scripts using LoadRunner and JMeter.
- Execute performance tests using LoadRunner and/or BlazeMeter.
- Design workload distribution models based on business usage patterns.
- Conduct performance validation for applications migrating to new data center environments.
- Perform deep-dive bottleneck analysis across application, middleware, infrastructure, and database layers.
- Work with monitoring and observability tools such as AppDynamics and Splunk for root cause analysis.
- Validate scalability, reliability, and resilience in containerized/OpenShift environments.
- Plan and execute Chaos Engineering experiments to validate system stability under failure conditions.
- Provide performance tuning recommendations to development and infrastructure teams.
- Prepare detailed performance reports and executive summaries.
- Support rapid onboarding of applications where performance testing is being conducted for the first time.
Requirements:
Performance Engineering
- Strong experience in NFR gathering and performance strategy definition.
- Expertise in performance scripting using:
o LoadRunner (VuGen, Controller, Analysis)
o Apache JMeter
- Experience executing tests using:
o LoadRunner
o BlazeMeter
- Strong knowledge of workload modeling and test scenario design.
- Experience handling large, complex, multi-application environments.
- Monitoring & Analysis
- Hands-on experience with:
o AppDynamics
o Splunk
- Strong capability in performance diagnostics and bottleneck identification.
- Experience analyzing CPU, memory, thread pools, connection pools, GC logs, and SQL performance.
Technology Stack Exposure
- Java-based applications
- .NET applications
- Containerized environments (OpenShift/Kubernetes preferred)
- Microservices architecture understanding
- Chaos Engineering
- Experience designing and executing controlled failure experiments using Gremlin
- or Chaos Mesh
- Ability to validate resilience, failover, and recovery scenarios.
Preferred, but not required:
- Experience in Data Center Migration performance validation.
- Experience testing applications undergoing infrastructure refresh or cloud
- transformation.
- Familiarity with CI/CD integrated performance testing.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) is an advantage.
- Experience handling performance testing for applications where no historical
- baseline exists.
