Our challenge:

We are seeking an experienced OpenText ALM Octane Engineer to manage, administer, and optimize the ALM Octane platform supporting enterprise Agile and DevOps initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in ALM Octane administration, configuration, workspace management, release planning, pipeline integrations, ALM APIs, Jira synchronization, and legacy ALM migrations. This role requires close collaboration with QA, Development, DevOps, Product, and Project Management teams to streamline application lifecycle management processes.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $100k - $110k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

Administer and configure the OpenText ALM Octane platform across multiple projects and business units.

Manage and maintain workspaces, shared spaces, users, roles, permissions, releases, milestones, and teams.

Configure and optimize Agile and DevOps workflows within ALM Octane.

Design, implement, and support CI/CD pipeline integrations with ALM Octane.

Develop and maintain integrations using ALM Octane REST APIs.

Configure and support Octane-Jira synchronization, ensuring seamless synchronization of defects, user stories, epics, requirements, and test artifacts.

Plan and execute migration activities from legacy ALM/Quality Center environments to ALM Octane.

Support test management, defect management, release management, and quality assurance processes.

Troubleshoot platform issues, integration failures, synchronization errors, and performance bottlenecks.

Collaborate with infrastructure, DevOps, and application teams to improve platform adoption and governance.

Create technical documentation, configuration standards, and operational procedures.

Provide user training and platform support across development and testing teams.

• Data migration and validation strategies.

Reporting & Analytics

• Dashboard creation and customization.
• Quality metrics reporting.
• Release and test execution reporting.
• KPI and defect trend analysis.

Preferred, but not required:

Knowledge of Test Automation frameworks.

Experience with CI/CD implementation and DevOps transformations.

Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Experience working with large-scale enterprise application environments.

Familiarity with database querying and scripting (SQL, PowerShell, Shell Scripting).

Experience with Performance Testing and Continuous Testing practices.
