Our challenge

We are seeking a Database Engineer who will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining database systems that store and organize critical business data.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $95k - $100k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop database architectures (Mainly Oracle, SQL Server).
• Install, configure, and upgrade database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server).
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.
• Monitor database performance and tune queries for efficiency.
• Ensure data integrity, consistency, and security across systems.
• Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Manage database access, roles, and permissions.
• Collaborate with application developers to design data models and schemas.
• Troubleshoot database-related issues and provide timely resolution.
• Automate database tasks using scripting (PowerShell, Shell).
• Ensure compliance with data governance and regulatory standards.
• Support data migration and integration activities.

Requirements:

• Strong experience with SQL and database design.
• Hands-on experience with DBMS: SQL Server, Oracle, MySQLand MongoDB.
• Knowledge of indexing, partitioning, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience with cloud databases (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL) is a plus.
• Scripting knowledge (Bash, PowerShell) and winScp knowledge must.

Preferred, but not required:

• Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Certification in database technologies (e.g., Microsoft, Oracle).
