Job Role: Database Engineer

A Database Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining database systems that store and organize critical business data.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop database architectures (Mainly Oracle, SQL Server)
- Install, configure, and upgrade database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server)
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions
- Monitor database performance and tune queries for efficiency
- Ensure data integrity, consistency, and security across systems
- Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
- Manage database access, roles, and permissions
- Collaborate with application developers to design data models and schemas
- Troubleshoot database-related issues and provide timely resolution
- Automate database tasks using scripting (PowerShell, Shell)
- Ensure compliance with data governance and regulatory standards
- Support data migration and integration activities
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Technical Skills
- Strong experience with SQL and database design
- Hands-on experience with DBMS: SQL Server, Oracle, MySQLand MongoDB
- Knowledge of indexing, partitioning, and performance tuning
- Familiarity with ETL processes and data warehousing concepts
- Experience with cloud databases (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL) is a plus
- Scripting knowledge (Bash, PowerShell) and winScp knowledge must
Other Skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills specially for Prod support
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Certification in database technologies (e.g., Microsoft, Oracle)
