Our challenge
The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) will serve as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, gathering requirements, analyzing payment processes, and ensuring the delivery of scalable, secure, and efficient payment solutions. The ideal candidate has strong domain expertise in payments including card transactions, ACH, wire transfers, and digital wallets..
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Dallas, TX/Pittsburgh, PA is $95k - $105k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document payment-related requirements.
- Translate business needs into functional specifications for technical teams.
- Conduct gap analysis of existing payment systems and recommend improvements.
- Support the design, development, testing, and deployment of payment solutions.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as PCI-DSS, EMV, and NACHA regulations.
- Liaise with developers, QA, and operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve payment system issues.
- Develop use cases, process flows, and user stories related to payment workflows.
- Perform data analysis and reporting on payment transaction data to identify trends and anomalies.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes in the payments domain.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Business Systems Analyst in the payments domain.
- In-depth knowledge of payment processing systems, networks, and protocols.
- Strong understanding of payment types (card payments, ACH, wire transfers, digital wallets).
- Familiarity with payment industry standards and regulations (PCI-DSS, EMV, NACHA, etc.).
- Experience with core banking systems and payment gateways.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, or PCI Professional.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Knowledge of API integration and fintech solutions.
- Technical background with understanding of SQL, XML, JSON, and system architecture.
