- Utilize crisis intervention and crisis management skills to de-escalate situations and ensure safety for clients and staff.
- Employ motivational interviewing techniques to encourage clients’ engagement in treatment plans and goal setting.
- Share personal experiences to inspire hope and demonstrate that recovery is possible.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to coordinate care, document interactions within electronic health record (EHR) systems, and track progress.
- Mentor clients through behavioral health challenges, fostering skill development and resilience-building strategies.
- Assist in developing community resources and facilitate connections to additional support services as needed.
Qualifications
- Lived experience with mental health conditions or substance use recovery, demonstrating personal resilience and insight.
- Strong knowledge of behavioral health principles, mental health counseling, addiction counseling, and social work practices.
- Proficiency in crisis intervention, crisis management, and behavioral de-escalation techniques.
- Experience with motivational interviewing methods to support client engagement.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams using EHR systems for documentation.
- Excellent communication skills with an empathetic approach to mentoring and supporting others.
