This is a full-time on-site role in Glastonbury, CT for a Senior Accountant. In this role you will be a crucial contributor, not only to required financial and regulatory reporting, but also to the financial roadmap that helps inform the company’s new growth strategy. We’re looking for a disciplined, inquisitive professional who can handle fresh challenges and a fast pace. Position reports to the Director of Finance.
Duties
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of general ledger close responsibilities
- Be the primary auditor liaison by coordinating with outside accounting firm and support audit procedures
- Stay in touch with changes in reporting guidance and policy.
- Manage treasury operations for cash and non-operating assets, coordinating around significant transactional periods
- Maintain fixed asset schedule and ensure compliance with local tax reporting
- Collaborate with billing operations to ensure proper recognition of revenue and contain aging accounts
- Gain strong understanding of managerial reporting structure and ensure consistent treatment throughout the organization’s financial data
- Prepare quarterly financial reports highlighting change drivers and KPI’s
- Manage intercompany activity and reconciliations with parent and other affiliates
- Collaborate with FP&A function to set budget and build out quarterly forecast
- Seek out and/or develop efficiencies and improve effectiveness by instituting best practices in processes
- Navigate workload with minimal supervision
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in accounting (CPA or CMA a plus)
- 5 years experience with a mix of public accounting and private industry settings
- Local or regional firm experience preferred, with experience working with closely held businesses
- Knowledge of GAAP and Statutory accounting principles
- Experience with partnership taxation a strong plus
- Experience with multi-jurisdictional regulatory and taxation matters
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Financial Services experience a plus
- Experience with cloud-based GL systems, Sage Intacct preferred
- Strong working knowledge of compensation plans, payroll and fringe benefits
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment, highly detailed, organized and able to handle multiple competing deadlines.
Salary : $90,000 - $120,000
