Robotics & AS/RS Reliability Technician

As a Robotics & AS/RS Reliability Technician, you’ll become the resident authority on our automated adapters, vertical lifts, robotic arms, and the fleet of automated robotic vehicles that power our customers’ operations.A day in this roleYou start your shift surveying system health through the CMMS, prioritizing inspections across the Automated Storage and Retrieval System (AS/RS). You’ll fine-tune adapters and lifts, verify calibration on robotic subsystems, and clear any anomalies that stall robotic vehicles using schematics, wiring diagrams, and advanced test equipment. Throughout the day, you’ll adjust, repair, replace, or modify components to sustain continuous operation and maximize throughput across manual inbound, automatic inbound, and automatic outbound flows.When production is impacted, you’ll communicate clearly with operations and leadership—outlining the issue, the corrective plan, and the time to recover. Between interventions, you’ll document actions, labor, and parts with precision in the CMMS, keep the area 5S-ready, and wrap up by cleaning up equipment and removing replaced parts.What you’ll ownSystem inspections across AS/RS, automated adapters/lifts, and robotic vehicles within expected durationsContinuous operation through calibration, adjustment, repair, replacement, or modification of electro-mechanical componentsMonitoring and processing automated storage and retrieval flows via adapters to achieve target throughput and cases per hourAdvanced troubleshooting of robotic vehicle stoppages and anomalies using schematics, wiring diagrams, and test instrumentsThorough maintenance documentation and parts/labor tracking in the CMMSClear, timely communication of production-impacting issues and ETAs for corrective and emergency workRobotic arm setup, calibration, tool changes, and recovery effortsAutomated robotic vehicle recovery in the Symbotic Matrix select system, including work in restrictive environmentsLight fabrication/utility tasks (e.g., machining holes or brackets, cutting steel, aligning sensors, attaching Unistrut)Adherence to 5S standards; perform Cell Operator functions as needed; other duties as assignedWhat sets you up for successAssociate degree and/or certification in electronics, automotive, automation, manufacturing, or equivalent experience (preferred)3 years working with mechanical automation systems or equivalent education/trainingProficiency operating and running automated systems; strong PLC knowledge and troubleshootingExpert-level diagnostic skills and the ability to interpret electro-mechanical diagramsProficiency performing inspection functions and working independently from procedures/manualsComfort thriving in a dynamic environment and shifting priorities as business needs evolveWork environment realitiesClimb steep stairs into the structure; work near railings high off the groundProtected from weather but not temperature; capable of working from 105° to 32° FOn construction sites, wear PPE: hard hat, safety vest, steel toes, eyeglasses, ear protection, fall protection (e.g., safety harness)Frequently lift up to 50 lbs and move items up to 80 lbsStand/walk 10–12 hours; frequent reaching with hands and armsWork at heights up to 45 feet and within restrictive areas of 24 inches; climb/balance/stoop/kneel/crouch/crawl as neededCapable of feeling, seeing, hearing, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, balancing, gripping, climbing, crawling, sitting, handling objects, and repetitive movement using both hands and feetComply with all safety requirements and protocols, including Lock Out Tag Out and fall protectionWhere you fitYou’ll be part of our Customer Operations organization—partnering with onsite customers every day to drive quality, safety, and world-class system performance.
