We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative Resource Specialist Teacher (RSP) to join our educational team in Sacramento. The ideal candidate will provide specialized academic support and instructional services to students with mild to moderate disabilities while helping them succeed in the general education setting. The Resource Specialist Teacher will work closely with students, families, and staff to design and deliver effective interventions that meet individualized education goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct instructional support to students with IEPs in both resource room and general education classroom settings.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs and ensure academic progress.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to modify classroom activities and support inclusive practices.
- Conduct academic assessments to monitor student growth and adjust instructional methods accordingly.
- Provide case management services, ensuring timely IEP meetings, progress reports, and compliance documentation.
- Support students in developing academic, organizational, and social skills needed for long-term success.
- Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams regarding student progress and strategies for support.
- Supervise and collaborate with instructional aides/paraprofessionals assigned to support resource students.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential – Mild/Moderate Disabilities required.
- Previous experience as a Resource Specialist Teacher or in a similar special education role preferred.
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, case management, and instructional adaptations.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to support students across a variety of grade levels and subject areas.
- Commitment to inclusive practices and student-centered instruction.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour
