Responsibilities
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to support clients’ developmental and behavioral goals
- Collect and analyze data on client behaviors, progress, and responses to interventions to inform ongoing treatment adjustments
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as grooming, dressing, feeding, and toileting, promoting independence and self-care skills
- Use positive reinforcement strategies and effective behavior management techniques to encourage desired behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records, documentation, and progress notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with team members, families, and caregivers to ensure consistency in intervention strategies and support systems
- Participate in ongoing training sessions on behavioral therapy techniques, medical terminology, and ethical standards for patient care
Skills
- Strong understanding of behavioral therapy principles and applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques
- Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities, especially autism spectrum disorder
- Ability to assist with ADLs and support clients’ daily routines with patience and compassion
- Proficiency in data collection methods and maintaining detailed medical documentation
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality and privacy at all times
- Effective teaching skills to promote skill acquisition and positive behavior change
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and care plan implementation for behavioral health settings
