Early Literacy Teachers Wanted for Fun After-School and Weekend Tutoring!
Sylvan Learning Center of Wilton, NY is looking for fun, dedicated elementary school reading tutors to support and inspire students. We currently have 1 positions available for a teacher who is excited to teach reading and writing foundations for students between grades K-3. At Sylvan, there are no lesson plans to create, no homework to grade, no parent-conferencing, and your schedule can be flexible. Enjoy all of the benefits of teaching reading and writing without any of the downsides!
Sylvan creates individualized learning plans for students of all abilities. Our ELA tutors are then responsible for leading instruction for up to a maximum of 3 students. Sylvan's program is based on the Science of Reading, and we help students build their skills and confidence through mastery learning.
What you should know:
- If you enjoy working with and inspiring students, this is the job for you. (We want you to be happy here!)
- You will use pre-planned lessons. They are straightforward, easy to manage, and fun to teach
- Teach students in a small group setting. There will be no more than 3 students per teacher
- Most teachers choose to work 2-5 days/week
- This is NOT a remote position
Job Requirements:
- Teaching Credential recommended (required for some subjects)
- Minimum of one or two years of teaching experience preferred
- You must enjoy teaching, working, and inspiring students. (We want you to be happy here!)
- Ability to multi-task (Cause teaching is always crazy)
- Knowledge of general office equipment such as copiers, printers, and office phones is helpful
- Knowledge of tablets and computers preferred
