About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to support financial and operational analysis, cost management, and reporting. In this role, you will analyze financial data, evaluate performance against budgets and forecasts, identify trends and variances, and provide actionable insights to support business decisions.
The ideal candidate has a strong analytical mindset, advanced Excel skills, SQL experience, and a solid understanding of accounting and finance principles. You will also have opportunities to improve reporting processes, automate workflows, and enhance data accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze operational costs and establish standard costs using financial and operational data.
- Evaluate actual financial results against budgets, plans, and forecasts to identify variances and trends.
- Develop financial reports, forecasts, and analyses to support business planning and decision-making.
- Investigate discrepancies, reconcile transactions, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial performance, reduce costs, and increase operational efficiency.
- Analyze proposed changes to processes, methods, and materials to evaluate potential financial impacts.
- Maintain and validate financial databases, ensuring data accuracy and appropriate recordkeeping.
- Develop and improve automated reporting and accounting processes to increase productivity.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to management and relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain the confidentiality and security of sensitive financial information.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, cost analysis, FP&A, accounting, or a related field.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, data analysis, and reporting.
- Experience using SQL to query, retrieve, and analyze data.
- Working knowledge of accounting and finance principles, including budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and variance analysis.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data reconciliation skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex financial information.
- Ability to communicate findings clearly and recommend actionable improvements.
- U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Oracle or SAP.
- Familiarity with Power BI or other business intelligence tools.
- Experience with IBM Planning Analytics TM1.
- Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude.
- Experience automating financial reports or improving accounting and reporting workflows.
