This role focuses on designing and developing high-quality training solutions for adult learners supporting apprenticeship and workforce development programs.The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in technical training development, task analysis, and instructional design methodologies, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts. Key ResponsibilitiesAct as the primary designer and developer for instructor-led, web-based, and on-the-job training programs supporting apprenticeship initiatives.Apply established instructional design methodologies to assess stakeholder needs, analyze complex technical content, and evaluate training effectiveness.Conduct detailed task analysis for job functions, business processes, and systems.Develop comprehensive learning materials, including:Student and facilitator guidesHands-on practice activitiesScenarios, videos, simulations, and assessmentsInstructor-led and self-paced learning contentDefine learning objectives and course structures aligned with stakeholder needs and learning environment constraints.Partner with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts to conceptualize, review, and validate training content.Lead milestone meetings, including task analysis, alpha, beta, and train-the-trainer sessions.Write clear and effective instructional text, audio, and video scripts appropriate for adult learners.Incorporate feedback and deliver high-quality training materials within established timelines.Proactively communicate risks, issues, and progress.Work under the direction of a Senior Instructional Designer, following established standards, templates, and guidelines. Required Qualifications3 years of experience developing instructor-led and on-the-job technical training.3 years of hands-on experience with:Articulate StorylineQuestionMarkAuthor-ItStrong knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE).Proven experience performing task analysis.Proficiency with PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Microsoft Teams.Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and meet deadlines.Experience developing technical training for adult learners.Portfolio or work samples are required for consideration. Desired QualificationsExperience in the utilities, energy, or infrastructure industry.Technical writing experience.Experience supporting apprenticeship or workforce development programs.
