Senior Accountant

Job Requirements

Sweetwater, the nation’s #1 online retailer of pro audio equipment and music instruments is seeking to hire a Senior Accountant to add to our growing Accounting and Finance team. As Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for Sweetwater’s financial procedures, records, and statements for compliance with laws and regulations. With a thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), accounting policies and controls, attention to detail, the ability to complete tasks with a high level of accuracy, and consistently meet deadlines, you will identify continuous process improvement opportunities through automation and/or efficiency initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations in compliance with Company standards and policies as well as drive improvements to our documentation and processes.
• Help create, improve, and conduct detailed balance sheet account reconciliations that will support process improvement and standardization.
• Assist with continuous improvement, automation, and internal control initiatives in support of corporate strategies.
• Generate ad-hoc financial reports, perform general ledger account analysis and technical accounting research as requested.
• Work actively with cross-functional teams to drive project completion impacting various accounting and finance areas.
• Actively support internal and external audits including preparation of audit support and responding to auditor inquiries.
• Facilitate the enhancement of internal controls and account reconciliation processes and ensure the effective implementation and ongoing operating effectiveness of a best-in-class controls environment.
• Daily tasks including posting of cash and other financial transactions
  
  

Qualifications

• 5 Years of corporate accounting experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance field
• CPA/MBA Preferred
• Proficient to expert using Microsoft Excel and other parallel software
• Strong technology skills with a general aptitude for computer software applications
• Motivated, self-starter with a positive attitude
• Quick learner; adaptability to different working styles
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong understanding of audit/SOX processes and regulation
