Swagelok Louisiana is seeking an adaptable, solution focused Application Engineer to support the design and delivery of fluid system solutions for customers in a variety of industrial markets. This is an onsite role based in Baton Rouge. The position works closely with customers and internal teams to develop practical solutions that meet technical, quality, and business requirements.

Swagelok Louisiana is the independently owned and authorized sales and service center for Swagelok in Louisiana and portions of Mississippi, as well as certain areas in South America. We provide critical fluid system products, assemblies, training, and services to customers in oil and gas, refining, chemical, midstream, power, and transportation markets.
We are looking for someone with strong technical aptitude, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment. This is a good opportunity for someone who enjoys problem solving, working across teams, and developing practical engineered solutions based on customer needs and technical requirements.
What you will do
- Design fluid system solutions and select products that meet customer, application, and industry requirements
- Interpret customer drawings, schematics, P&IDs, blueprints, and related technical documents
- Prepare quotes, drawings, schematics, and supporting documentation for engineered solutions and fabricated assemblies
- Partner with customers, sales, field engineering, and internal teams to deliver practical, compliant solutions
- Support fabrication and order fulfillment by answering technical questions and helping resolve production issues
- Provide technical support for customer meetings, project pursuits, and solution presentations as needed
- Coordinate with Swagelok corporate and internal stakeholders to support accurate design handoff and project execution
What we are looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical, electrical, or related engineering field preferred
- Equivalent technical experience may be considered
- Two or more years of experience in system design, applications engineering, or design for manufacturing/assembly
- CAD experience required, preferably SolidWorks or similar software
- Experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, or other industrial process environments preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude, problem solving ability, and communication skills
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and collaborate effectively across teams
