Litigation Legal Assistant
Location: Dane County, WI
Pay: $25–$28 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time
We are partnering with a well-established law firm in the Madison area to hire a Litigation Legal Assistant supporting both Civil and Criminal Litigation teams. Position Overview
The Litigation Legal Assistant plays a critical role in supporting attorneys throughout the litigation lifecycle. This position ensures cases remain organized, deadlines are met, and clients receive timely, professional communication. Responsibilities include calendar management, document preparation, filings, and trial support.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage litigation calendars, including hearings, court dates, and filing deadlines
- Create and track case tasks and deadlines within Clio
- Process Wisconsin and federal e-filings accurately and efficiently
- Draft and proofread routine pleadings, notices, correspondence, and discovery materials
- Maintain well-organized electronic and physical case files
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
- Assist with billing, including preparing statements and tracking expenses
- Support attorneys with hearing and trial preparation, including exhibits and coordination
- Provide general administrative and legal support as needed
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of litigation legal assistant or law firm experience required
- Experience with Wisconsin and federal e-filing systems
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Google Workspace
- Experience with Clio preferred
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Notary Public certification preferred or willingness to obtain
