Job Summary
Sushi Box is looking for a skilled and reliable Sushi Chef to join our team. Experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person who has a great attitude and strong work ethic. This role includes preparing fresh sushi items, supporting daily production, and creating a positive experience for our guests. There is plenty of room for growth as we continue to expand.
This position receives tips through our team tip pool.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble sushi items according to Sushi Box standards
- Maintain consistency in taste, portioning, and presentation
- Follow all food safety and hygiene guidelines at all times
- Keep workstations clean, organized, and fully stocked
- Monitor ingredient levels and communicate supply needs to management
- Assist with prep work, cutting fish, and daily production tasks
- Work efficiently with the team to keep service running smoothly
- Help maintain the restaurant’s standard of quality and customer satisfaction
Skills
- Experience with sushi preparation and Japanese ingredients preferred
- Strong knife skills and proper food handling techniques
- Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced environment
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
- Prior restaurant, catering, or food service experience is a plus
