Position Overview
The Freight Administrator plays a key role in supporting daily logistics operations by coordinating shipments, assisting with dispatch, and ensuring accurate documentation. This position partners closely with the Route Planner to ensure efficient delivery scheduling and strong customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Support load planning, dispatching, and customer pre-calls
- Assist with driver payroll (mileage and hourly entry)
- Process trip envelopes and maintain trip documentation
- Enter and manage fleet purchase orders
- Maintain driver qualification (DQ) and performance files
- Handle incoming calls and provide administrative support
- Print and distribute UPS and LTL paperwork to the yard (multiple times daily)
- Maintain accurate truck and fleet records
- Support safety initiatives and compliance standards
Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of dispatch operations and logistics workflows
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and freight operations preferred
- Effective communication and customer service skills
- Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office, data entry, etc.)
- Ability to adapt quickly and problem-solve as priorities shift
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Preferred:
- Logistics or supply chain experience
- Dispatching experience
- Customer service background
- Familiarity with DOT compliance
