About Sunrise Inn
Sunrise Inn is a café, bar, motel, store and fuel stop at Mile 45 of the Sterling Highway in Cooper Landing, Alaska. It's been a roadhouse since 1952, and we're open year round. The owners are renovating rooms and building a team people want to come back to, and we're hiring a manager to run the day to day.
Housing available: $300 a month, utilities included.
What you'll do
- Run daily operations of the café and bar [or: across the property]
- Hire, schedule and train staff, and set the standard for how guests are treated
- Order food and supplies, track inventory and keep costs in line
- Handle opening and closing, cash, and end-of-day reports
- Keep food safety, alcohol service and cleanliness where they need to be
- Work directly with the owners on what's working and what needs to change
What we're looking for
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a restaurant, bar or hotel
- Comfortable building schedules on a small team with tight margins
- Food safety manager certification, or willing to get it
- Organized, direct and calm under pressure
- Willing to jump in on the line, behind the bar or at the front desk when it's needed
Pay and housing
- Pay: DOE
- Housing: $300 a month, utilities included. Available to anyone relocating to work with us.
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
