What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Care Teacher position at Sunrise Academy?
- Arrive on time and notify the Owner as soon as possible if an emergency affects your scheduled shift. Reliable attendance is an essential part of this position.
- Ensure a safe, happy, and stimulating environment for all children.
- Maintain a professional appearance, attitude, and work ethic at all times.
- Follow the daily schedule and classroom routines.
- Keep your phone on you with the sound on while on duty for emergency communication only. Personal phone use should be limited.
- Use a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, music, crafts, and hands-on activities) to engage and teach children.
- Observe each child and encourage social-emotional development, independence, and self-esteem.
- Encourage children to interact respectfully and help them resolve conflicts appropriately.
- Guide children through planned curriculum activities, including letters, numbers, colors, shapes, art, and practical life skills.
- Ensure children have potty breaks at least every 1.5 hours, or more frequently as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom that meets all health and safety standards.
- Complete all daily and weekly cleaning and classroom checklists.
- Assist with fire drills, earthquake drills, and other emergency procedures.
- Document all injuries, accidents, and incidents promptly and accurately.
- Immediately report any injuries, behavioral concerns, licensing concerns, or safety issues to the Owner/Head Provider.
- Direct all parent questions regarding tuition, scheduling, policies, or enrollment to the Owner.
- Complete all required training and maintain certifications required for the position.
- Follow all licensing regulations and Sunrise Academy policies at all times.
- Treat every child, family, and coworker with kindness, respect, and professionalism.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding all children and families.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
