Part-Time Child Care Assistant (Potential Teaching Position in September)
We are currently seeking a dependable, experienced Child Care Assistant who is interested in transitioning into a teaching role beginning in September.
This position will start at approximately 15–20 hours per week for training, with hours varying based on program needs.
Availability Requirements
Applicants must have open availability Monday through Friday between 5:30 AM and 5:30 PM. Schedules change weekly, and flexibility is essential to provide coverage when staff members are absent.
Because we are a small team, dependability is extremely important to maintaining our program operations. This position is not well-suited for someone attempting to work another job during these hours.
Experience Requirements
Applicants must have verifiable experience working with children ages 3 months to 8 years old in a licensed child care setting.
Qualifications
Candidates must be:
- Detail-oriented
- Able to cook for a large group
- Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Able to pass a criminal background check (or already have one through the Oregon Child Care Division)
- Able to plan and lead daily activities for children
- Able to obtain or currently possess an Oregon Food Handler Card
- Able and willing to complete required training, including Infant, Child, and Adult CPR/First Aid
- Experienced in cleaning and maintaining a clean, organized environment
