JOB TITLE: Production Manager, Millwork
JOB LOCATION: Provo, UT
FUNCTION: The Production Manager, Millwork drives the efficient operation, production, and sales of interior and exterior doors.
KEY ACTIVITIES:
- Visualize, fulfill, and implement the company vision and core values.
- Schedule, supervise and manage all yard and delivery employees to achieve customer service excellence at all times.
- Provide supervision and direction to shop workers and drivers.
- Oversee shop safety protocols to ensure all employees work safely and that safety hazards are mitigated immediately.
- Oversee and manage yard inventory to achieve organization, cleanliness, and optimum efficiencies.
- Work with other departments (sales) to provide customers excellent customer service.
- Work with other departments (Sales & Receiving) to ensure that the proper paperwork has been accurately completed for receiving and shipping.
- Participate and oversee production functions to meet delivery schedules and expectations as stated above.
- Manage labor expense in accordance to location budget and management expectations.
- Train shop employees to proper and efficient production and delivery protocols.
- Attend and participate in location and corporate supervisory training sessions.
- Adhere to standards of conduct as outlined in the Employee Handbook and Code of Conduct.
- Perform other duties as assigned by location management.
- Visualize, communicate, and implement the company vision and core values.
- Establish and maintain working relationships with current and prospective customers.
- Engage customers, vendors and business associates in a friendly and professional manner, providing input, direction, and support.
- Efficiently process basic customer orders/quotes and other transactions.
- Assist customers in problem resolution.
- Fabricate exterior and interior residential doors in accordance to customer requirements and Company standards as needed.
- Operate appropriate equipment to machine and manufacture doors to specifications.
- Maintain a safe working environment identifying potential safety concerns and hazards.
- Oversee production schedules and work with customers and sales to meet project needs and deadlines.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook, etc.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Strong knowledge of millwork products and services, especially with regards to millwork.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) as well as strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Strong sales and customer service skills.
- Practical mathematic and measuring skills.
- Effective management skills.
- Able to function effectively as part of a high-performance production team.
- Ability to achieve performance objectives in a time-sensitive and quality-centered environment.
- Demonstrate initiative and reliability with minimal supervision.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3-5 years' experience in Millwork or a related field.
- 3-5 years' management/sales experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Physical Work Requirements - Heavy: exerting up to 50 lbs of force regularly.
- Repetitive motion associated with operating manufacturing equipment.
- Frequent bending, standing, lifting, and ongoing physical activity.
