Senior Oracle E-Business Suite Developer/Engineer

Position Summary: This critical role at Sunnen Products Company involves the design, development, maintenance, and support of our Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) applications. The Senior Oracle E-Business Suite Developer/Engineer will be a key contributor to Sunnen's EBS environment, requiring a deep understanding of Oracle EBS architecture, strong PL/SQL programming skills, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. A unique and essential aspect of this role is to understand the characteristics of the specialty tools we make for customers in commercial Automotive and Aerospace industries which requires the candidate to have an understanding on Mechanical and Metallurgical properties of the product to design SKU optimization for our IT systems and understand the Manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement through data analysis and reporting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

Application Design and Development:

• Analyze user requirements to develop detailed application designs and system flows
• Design, develop, and test web-enabled Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) using Oracle Forms and Reports, adhering to Oracle development standards
• Modify, develop, and test web scripts using Unix shell and Unix tools
• Collaborate with business analysts and users to gather requirements and translate them into detailed technical specifications
• Enhance current business processes to accommodate changes and improvements suggested by users
• Develop custom objects to enhance or provide functionality not available as standard Oracle EBS functionality
• Develop new or modify existing formats, reports, database triggers, ERP packages, and ERP database views

Project Management and Implementation:

• Design and manage implementation and upgrade projects, including scheduling, coordinating meetings, developing project plans, tracking progress, and providing updates to management
• Support upgrades of existing systems, including analyzing new functionality and reviewing the impact on current enhancements and customizations; rework customizations as required

Manufacturing Process Improvement and Collaboration:

• Work closely with the Engineering team to gain a deep understanding of manufacturing processes and identify areas for improvement
• Analyze manufacturing data from EBS and other sources to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for optimization
• Develop reports and dashboards using Oracle Reports, BI Publisher, or other reporting tools to communicate findings and recommendations to the Engineering team and management
• Must have knowledge on Manufacturing forecasting tool Demand Solutions and VSEM

EBS System Support and Maintenance:

• Support daily processing and reporting needs, including concurrent requests, concurrent managers, data issues, error remediation, and interface troubleshooting
• Act as an intermediary between Sunnen users and 3rd party software/hardware support services/vendors
• Train users on customized processes
• Document all processes and customizations being developed

Continuous Improvement:

• Stay current with the latest Oracle EBS technologies and best practices

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, a related field, or equivalent experience
• Extensive knowledge or degree in Manufacturing/Metallurgy or Materials Science is required
• 7 years of experience in Oracle E-Business Suite development and support
• Extensive experience with PL/SQL programming, including stored procedures, functions, triggers, and packages within the EBS context
• Strong understanding of Oracle EBS architecture
• Experience with Oracle EBS development tools, including Forms, Reports, and Workflow
• Experience with SQL optimization and query tuning within the EBS environment
• Previous experience of working in IT for Manufacturing customers is preferred
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
